Yes it is a modular design, the front a rear sections can run independently and you can change how many cargo modules you want to have. This version however does not come with merge blocks to keep PCU low, you will have to manually separate modules.

Are the cargo modules modular (Can they be added/removed)?
Some freighters differ in length, the only constant being the front quarters/bridge and the rear engine.
