Overview
Commander, we have gotten words that Advent is attempting to build Sparks. It is prudent for us to steal their Spark unit for our own use.

Yet another CI chain from me :) With all the new Spark mods, I thought it would be nice to be able to obtain a Spark via CI chain. Its a simple chain with no mission: Covert Action > Wait > Covert Action. The chain will trigger when you have the capability to build Spark (because I don't want you getting Spark too early in your campaign) and there is less than 3 Sparks in barracks.

If you are currently building a Spark, the chain will not trigger. I don't want you to suddenly have an influx of Spark units in the barracks.

Can I enable this mid campaign?
Yes, that should be fine. Removing mid campaign may break things though.

What about mod compatibility?
Should be compatible with almost anything. If you see any issues, please let me know.

  • LWOTC - No way.
  • Project LASER : A Proficiency Sparks Plugin - Designed, built, and tested with this mod in mind.
  • [WOTC] Mechatronic Warfare: Total SPARK Overhaul - Should be fine.

Nice mod. Have only done the first heist chain so far, but got my 1st spark. Sparks always felt too expensive to really be worth it in the vanilla game unless you were using something like Covert Infiltration that limits how many soldiers you can hire. In the vanilla game, by the time I could really afford to build sparks, I didn't need them anymore.

I was a little confused by one of the screenshots above showing different types of sparks but I assume that is with optional mods installed that work with this one. I just got the standard, vanilla spark with no alternate class options.

Honestly this mod was quickly put together as a fair-er alternative to Starting Spark so I didn't give it much thought from narrative standpoint.

Would be cool if it had the Advent Mec appearance- or an option to steal Advent Mecs or Sparks.

Advent Sparks should be based around the feral MECs in Shen's Last Gift.

More covert infiltration chains!
Note: Before anyone asks, I was able to increase the amount of sparks from 3 to 5 and have the chain triggered while having 4 sparks.
