Add More Names

描述
This is a simple mod to add more first and last names to the base game. When I run Long war or any mod with many soldiers, I like to assign random first and last names, and I felt the choices were not varied enough. Now many names will come up in your game.

It was made for people whose game is in English (using the international localization). So far, it adds names for various countries, but mostly for the American and Russian naming archetypes. I have also added invented names for Skirmishers.

If you want me to add names to it, there is an open a discussion for this purpose. Pleasse indicate for which ingame country naming archetype.

I intend to keep this immersive, but if you have other names (Historial, fantasy or else) that you'd like to show up, feel free to write these in the discussion: I might create a new mod for less immersive names in the future.

I personally use Shade's [WOTC] Random Soldier Info Mod https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1188012104 to pick names, but you'll see rookies and VIPs appears with the new names too.

@silverleaf1 Thank you for the suggestion for everyone to edit the localization file locally. I haven't played XCOM2 or worked on mods for quite some time. Not sure I will ever get back to doing mods.

For everyone. Since Worf's voice is already used as a skirmisher voice Klingon names are good for skirmishers. I found this name generator. https://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/star-trek-klingon-names.php

For everyone. If you want to add your own names to this mod it is easy. Edit the XCOMGame.int file at steamapps\workshop\content\268500\2739704351\Localization\

@LeMarteau I have seen templates for doing some things mod-wise. A mission template would be pretty nice.

No matter tue number of list I add, it tends to reroll the same names a couple of times. There is probably a way to motigste this, but I don't know how at the moment.

@LeMarteau I am not saying it benefits from this mod but since cities like names are have meaning to people being able to add cities a person knows that may not be the most well known would add a personal touch just like this one does for names. I had the same last name appear on three soldiers in my recruits list. The odds of that have to be very low. Another good last name for Americans. Fisk. I will quickly check if this name is listed already.

How would the More Cities mod benefit from this one? You mean offering people the opporttunity to request cities to be added? If so, maybe the modder takes request directly from the comments. Having a dedicated thread makes it easier for me to keep up. :)
