Na južnoj strani uzvišenja Kučiština, u okviru sportsko-rekreativnog centra Babin Do na Bjelašnici izgrađen je hotel „Famos“ sa ukupno 186 ležaja (osnovnih i pomoćnih). Autori S. i O. Jovandić pokušali su da objekat razviju prema budućem centralnom trgu, tako da se konfiguracija zgrade ravna prema njemu, kao prvom parametru, kao i prema pravcu kretanja ka vrhu Kučištine gde su locirani sportski i rekreativni sadržaji ovog kompleksa. Uslovi terena, orijentacija soba i vizure date lokacije opredelili su karakter i strukturu funkcionalnog rešenja, uz unutrašnju organizaciju delova i jedinica. Sa posebnom pažnjom autori su razrešavali program objekta namenjen spoljnim gostima, pošto su već unapred i prirodno razdvojili tehnološki deo objekta od prostora za goste. U prizemnom delu nalaze se ostave za skije, garderobe, snek-bar, restoran i rekreativni prostori (kuglana i stoni tenis) što sve zajedno predstavija kvalitetnu ponudu u okvirima zimskog vremena gostiju izvan hotela. Za goste hotela posebno je izdvojen prostor visokog prizemlja. Ovde arhitekti postavijaju, osim recepcije, upravu i salone, društveni prostor sa kaminom, porod restorana i aperitiv-bara. Predivni pejzaži Bjelašnice bez prekida su slika i okvir za ove prostore enterijera, njihov daloki “vezni element” i zajednički imenitelj. Tri stambene etaže hotelskih soba razrešavaju se u dva krila, od kojih je jedno jednotraktno, (deset soba po etaži), a drugo u dva trakta (14 soba po spratu). Sve su sobe raznolike ponude opremljene prema standardima za ovu vrstu hotelskih objekata (C kategorija). U kuhinjskom bloku planira se priprema oko 500 obroka. Zamišljeno je da se ovaj deo objekta može proširivati i dograđivati bez remećenja života i logike već izgrađenog. Zajedno sa ostalim delovima objekta i ovaj deo je akcentiran izborom materijala, kod kojih se vodilo računa o datim klimalskim uslovima, kao i o drugim osobinama lokacije. Drvo (borovina koja je pripremljena za spoljašnje uslove), kamen i plastificirani samonosivi lim su osnovna “izražajna sredstva” ove arhitekture. Dužna pažnja posvećena je povezivanju objekta i neposredne okoline, obradi prilaza i terasa. Postojeći fond zelenila je očuvan i dopunjen, tako da se sa okolinom u punoj meri integriše. Gtedajući u celini moglo bi se reći da je ovaj hotelski objekt u funkcionalnom i u oblikovnom smislu dostigao zavidan stručni nivo, odgovarajući na osoben način izazovu prirode i pejzaža, uz jedan relatIvno jednostavan program koji je rešen na zadovoljavajući način. lz jedne jednostavne prostorne koncepcije proizašao je i jedan skladni graditeljski oblik tija je nepretencioznost jednovremeno i njegov bitni doprinos olimpijskoj arhitekturi u okvirima ZOI XIV. Još više: bitan doprinos post-olimpijskom razmišlianju o arhitekturi u prirodnim pejzažima izuzetne, autentične lepote.

The “Famos” hotel with a total of 186 beds (permanent and auxiliary) is built on the southern side of mount Kučiština, within the Babin Dol sports and recreational center. The authors, S. And 0. Jovandić have attempted to orientate the building towards the future central square, thus the compliance of the building configuration with it as a primary parameter, as well as in the direction of the summit of Kučiština where the sports and recreational grounds of this complex are located. The terrain conditions and orientation of rooms and views and the internal organization of the units and parts have determined the character and structure of the functional solution. The authors have taken particular care in defining the brief for the buildings intended for outside visitors, having previously made a natural division between the technological part of the building and the area for guests. The ground floor includes ski stores. cloaks, a snack bar, restaurant and recreational area (bowling alleys and table tennis) which form a qualitative offer to external guests during the winter period. Space for the hotel guests is situated separately on the upper ground floor. Here the architects have placed the reception, management space, lounge areas and a public area with a fire-place adjacent to the restaurant and aperitif bar. The very beautiful scenery of the Bjelašnica forms an infinite picture and surrounding for the interior spaces. their distant «tying element« and common denominator. Three levels of hotel rooms are resolved in two wings, one of which is single-track (ten rooms to a floor) and the other is in two tracks (fourteen rooms to a floor). All rooms are different and are equipped according to standards for this kind of hotel buildings (C category). The kitchen block is designed for the preparation of 500 meals. This part of the building envisages the possibility of expansion without interfering with the life and logic of the existing. This and other parts of the building are accentuated in terms of choice of materials in that climatic conditions and other properties of the location were taken into account. Timber (pinewood treated for external use). stone and plastic-coated self-bearing sheet metal are the basic “expressive means” of this architecture. Due attention was paid to the linking of the building to the surroundings and to the treatment of accesses and terraces. The existing greenery was preserved and increased so that integration with the environment is total. On the whole it may be said that this hotel building has by form and function achieved an enviable level of skill and has in its own way met the challenge of the scenery and nature with a relatively simple and satisfactorily solved brief. From a simple spatial concept, a harmonious building form has resulted, the non-pretentiousness of which is an important contribution to the Olympic architecture of the 14th Winter Olympics. And more so to the post-Olympic thinking of architecture in a natural scenery of exceptional, authentic beauty.
