Caucasus Rush (alt. 1943)

描述
The year is 1943 and the Wehrmacht are fleeing the Caucasus. As the siege of Stalingrad is broken and Astrakhan liberated a concurrent, but by no means lesser, conflict has blazed. Trapped against the Caspian Sea, the 4. Panzerarmee has been wiped out by the fighting men of the Transcaucasian Front and the loosening sanity of the Fuhrer. Meanwhile, von Manstein's overstretched and undermanned 11. Armee has been shattered by the British 10th, fleeing to the shores of the Black Sea. As the victorious Transcaucasian Front links up with the equally successful Astrakhan Front at Grozny, British 10th begins its pursuit of Manstein.

However, things are not all rosy for the allies; pieces of the British 10th Army have been stripped off yet again by high command for other theatres, this time the crack Polish II Corps. Thus the already weakened Allied army has been reduced to just a few elite Indian divisions, a single British infantry formation and a newly raised Free French force from the colonies. And as the remnants of 11. Armee hightail up the coast, Romania sends untouched reserves across the Black Sea, freed from Soviet naval interdiction. It's a long march to Sochi...

On the other hand, the Transcaucasian Front, which had once been a shadow force gasping for life on the Persian border, has become one of the best fighting groups of the war. Although Stavka is keeping its mechanised and tank corps close to the Don, freshly raised infantry and newly formed cavalry corps now form the backbone of a Soviet front seeking vengeance for its earlier humiliations. Its goal - Maikop, which seems virtually undefended. But what Stavka haven't picked up is that one of the few Axis armies to survive the Astrakhan and Stalingrad operations has made its way to the Kuban river - the 8. Armata of the Italian army is savaged but not yet out of commission and is determined to make a stand at the river.

The British 10th and the Transcaucasian Front; these two armies divided up at Baku but will now reunite on their push to the Kuban. The terrain is awful, their soldiers exhausted and air support is surprisingly lacking but morale has never been higher and Churchill has a vision; British and Soviet soldiers standing side by side, ejecting the Axis from the Caucasus!

(This is the third scenario of what will ultimately be a four part mini-campaign of sorts based off the 'Stalingrad' DLC alt-history path. Part one is 'Armenian Nights' and part two is 'Back to Baku'. Look out for part 4 hitting your local stores soon! Hope you have fun and good luck!)
(Balanced for Classic difficulty.)

Interesting to see Stalin allowing the British further access into the Soviet Union. A good scenario, looking forward to more
