1) Install CoD4 from steam
2) Launch multiplayer
3) Enable console in settings
4) Open console with Tilde (`) key
5) Manually connect to any C4S server by typing one of the following commands into the console

/connect 178.33.157.21:28958
or
/connect 178.33.157.21:28953

6) The required files will download and you will be prompted to downgrade your version, click yes to any box that appears
7) Relaunch cod4 multiplayer, you will now see Cod4x 20.1 or higher in the bottom right
8) after clicking join game ensure source at the top is set to "Internet COD4X"
9) Done, multiplayer is back!

downloading illegal copies of the game can get you banned from servers

Singleplayer wont launch for me multiplayer works but i cant join a game any fix? When i press start then chose single player the button says starting then goes back to press start to play or what ever

The voice-chat is enabled, but i have nothing on the level indicator.

I'm on Windows 10 Pro currently, I never used to have this problem on my old rig. Upgraded about 3 months ago but havnet played for probably 2 years and now I cant play at all. I've spent hours trying all sorts of fixes, Restarting PC and router after trying multiple fixes but nothing works so far. Big bummer. I just want to play some promod and CJ lol.
