Recon Cameras

Ever wanted to scout out a planet before your approach? Check an asteroid for ore and hostiles from over a thousand kilometers way? Track an enemy ship on Mars from the comfort of your moon base? Well, now you can!

This mod adds new camera blocks that allow for remote scouting over unlimited distances (power requirements allowing), complete with the ability to place GPS markers and track entities at a distance as well.

To balance the tactical advantage these cameras grant, there are also tracer blocks which can detect when an enemy is scouting the area near your grid and will allow you to trace their position automatically!

This mod is not currently under any development and there are severe bugs in multiplayer (still works in SP afaik). For the moment, there are no plans to revisit or fix it. Use at your own risk! Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hold Alt: Hold and use mouse to pan camera around.
Mouse Wheel and PgUp/PgDn: Zoom camera in and out.
Hold Ctrl: Lower pan and zoom speed (for more precise movements).
Hold Shift : Raise pan and zoom speed (for faster movements).

V: Reset view.
Home: Create GPS.
End: Lock to viewed enity. Hold to unset target.
F: Exit camera.

Tracer blocks will detect nearby camera proxy grids (invisible grid that player using camera controls) that belong to enemies of the faction/player that owns the tracer block. They will begin tracing the position of the enemy spy the moment they are detected (takes about 10 seconds; faster if more tracers are active). Once the trace is complete, a GPS will appear at the position of the enemy spy. The defending player can then follow this GPS and go hunting for the spy.

Tracer power consumption scales with the square of the detection radius, so mind your power!

This mod can be customized by making use of the Config.xml file that generates once the mod is loaded. Loading a file with this mod active creates a Config.xml file inside of the save folder (...\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves\<SteamId>\<SaveGameName>\Storage\2703188911.sbm_SpyCameras). You can edit the values in this file to change those values in game after loading back into the save.

Setup Steps:
1. Subscribe to the mod
2. Add mod to world
3. Load into world once to generate the Config.xml file
4. Exit world
5. Make changes to the Config.xml file at above location
6. Load back into world to see changes
