Both rivers should now be no problem anymore.
I looked at the map and changed the river you mentioned so that ships can no longer turn there. Was there also a problem with the river on the right, which is about the same size?
Because then I would also change this river so that the ships only use the large main river.
However, I didn't notice that there was a separate 2.0 version available so I started my realistic game on this one and ran into an issue with exporting large ships to NATO countries. They try to take the small river towards Vawkavysk instead of the obvious main waterway and get stuck there. Any chance of fixing that?
But I'm currently working on a complete overhaul of the map. New resources on the map and more. The terrain is beautified and simplified for the realistic mode. A separate version then comes into the workshop.
To your question, I would also deal with gravel and plants. It may take forever, but Rome wasn't built in a day :)
Seriously, I hate you and your beautiful map. I've sunk so many hours into this gorgeous creation only to be left with 20 wooden bridges and uncontrollable debt. I tried to play on other maps, I really did. Only to come back begging for more punishment.
Got any tips? My last attempt I went for oil exports by boat and failed miserably. I'm about to just make a train to export gravel and let it run over night.
