Akyet's Original Rifle Sling Mod is now updated, I suggest using it
Akyet deserves all the credit hes the one that made the mod
this mod still works but there are a few small bugs that Akyet's version seems to have fixed
make sure to only use one or the other. if you use both mods there will be conflicts!




[OLD] UNSUB FROM ORIGINAL MOD
and maybe leave a like on his before you do so
this is a direct copy paste from Akyet's Rifle Sling Mod with a small fix, all rights and thanks belong to him
and check out his other mods at his Workshop Page and drop him a like for his great work!

Adds a Rifle Sling to the game.
Can be worn with the rifle in four different positions.

Equipping the sling will give you an additional hotbar slot and attach point for Sawn-Offs or full Rifles.
Adds additional hotkey bindings for the sling incase you max out your hotbar.

You'll be able to carry whatever you want in your original back weapon slot, so an extra gun or a large melee, etc.
The sling doesn't take up the backpack slot so you can still hoard all the loot you want.

Works with Brita's and all other firearm mods, as long as the item is tagged firearm it should work
also i do not code, bug reports are appreciated and i will add them to the list below when found but unless its an easy fix i will probably not be able to do anything about it

Known Bugs
  • Spawning issues are due to you already visiting that area of the map without the mod loaded, either visit a different location or make a new game
  • Reports of Noir's Attachment mod creating the same issue as the original mod, although i cannot seem to reproduce this issue
  • pressing exercise with a gun equipped will not work, a easy fix is to download Exercise with Gear
  • Equipping a backpack and a sling will cause a visual bug where the rifle is slung on your back instead of the side backpack pocket
  • problems with better belts found by a subscriber "it works as long as the Better Belts belt is equipped after your holster and sling. Equipping a sling after the borked hotbar slots causes any further hotbar slots to also break, whereas if you equip the sling first, making it hotbar slot 2, it works fine."

also the original creator updated the mod, use whichever one you wish, both still work.
but just know i probably will never be updating this again

you CAN craft them, you can also find them in the wild, they copied their spawns from guns, so check military outposts, police, or gun stores

@humble most likely, i would lol. I only made my version as a super super simplistic fix
if Akyets mod works again i would 100% use that as he knows how to code and i know very little

Yeah 'Better Belts' uses a depreciated & now-defunct hotbar API so that's 100% the cause of the compatibility weirdness. Not sure if the mod is still supported, cause i'd love to see it get updated to modern standards & compatibility.

@Bambi Did some testing, and it works as long as the Better Belts belt is equipped after your holster and sling. Equipping a sling after the borked hotbar slots causes any further hotbar slots to also break, whereas if you equip the sling first, making it hotbar slot 2, it works fine.

@huflungpu no idea, never used that mod. it might work, it at least works alongside "noir's attachments" which does also gives more hotbar slots, as long as you dont go over 10 slots it SHOULD be fine
