The Destroyer

The Destroyer started out in the wrestling business as a babyface in the 50's. He started working under a mask in the early 60's and became a very successful heel.

Throughout his lengthy career, The Destoryer worked for multiple NWA territories and the AWA, where he wrestled as Dr. X. He defeated Verne Gagne for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship in 1968, holding the belt for two weeks in between Gagne reigns that lasted over 8 1/2 years combined.
