Please check out my new mod, smoking sounds overhaul! It features a lighter opening/closing, opening a matchbox, striking a match, crackling of a cigarette and exhaling of smoke sounds depending on what you use!

This is the old legacy version.

Works again for B41.73+!

I was really missing one thing from the smoking sound effect, the lighter!
So I made a new sound which does include the lighter sound which is that slight bit more satisfying to me.
Sadly, it repeats due to the way PZ works (The event repeats the same sound clip 3 times), and so far I have been unable to find a workaround for this issue.

Version:
Suitable for B41.73+
But should work in older versions too.

Compatibility:
Should be compatible with all mods unless they specifically alter the smoking sound effect.

Warning:
This adds the lighter sound effect to all types of lighting up, this includes when you are not using a lighter.
But I thought I'd share it if someone is interested

Hey everyone I finally updated this mod but it changed so much I made it into a new one!
The Smoking Sounds Overhaul mod adds a lighter/match sound when lighting, an open and close zippo lighter sound/match being retrieved from a matchbox, crackling and exhaling of smoke!

@lunarc yeah exactly, its a small detail but sound design can make a huge difference for immersion imo

Thanks, always thought they should add it so you can close and open lighters so you can at least hear that classict, *clink*, before smoking cigarettes

Apparently the latest release broke it, now I'm also getting the issues people have been having, I'll try looking into it but I dont have much time tbh.

@Magiococo hmm, it doesn't sound like a bad idea, there are already lighters in the game, I guess if that would make a sound effect when using it, instead of replacing the smoking sound itself, hmm I'd have to look into it. thanks for the idea tho!

With regard to the sound repeated three times, maybe you can add a new item, use the new item while smoking, and play the sound of the lighter?

@butter dog I just opened a new save with just my mod and it worked fine, perhaps it is a mod conflicting with mine? Do you have any other editing sounds?
