[REC] Avenger class corvette

Following multiple skirmishes in the space between Terra and Luna, multiple developments and realizations were made among REC high command. Many fighter's simply didn't preform as intended or couldn't be brought into combat by larger ships due to their large size. Additionally, REC corvettes were beginning to show their age. Whilst the new Buckler class corvette was good, it was a light warship only designed for patrol and convoy escort duties, and would quickly be destroyed should large ships target it. A new and modern corvette was needed to be able to stand up to enemy ships of it's size.

Enter the Avenger class. Brand new, designed to be able to slug it out with enemy corvettes and other light warships and come out on top. It's fast as well, much faster than it's predecessor, the Crusader. It's no slouch when it comes to fighter screening as well, with only the dedicated, anti-fighter, Syphrna class beating it in that department. To top it all off, it can fly anywhere in the system as well. Avenger's have already begun to phase out both the Crusader and Velox classes, but a complete phase out will take quite some time, as with the war going on, every ship is needed.
