Kinetica: The Marble Platformer Machine

This interactive exhibit allows the viewer to operate the red flippers strewn throughout the track, necessary for getting the marble from the start of the track to the finish line.

It invites a user to be a part of the art display, while simultaneously making them to want to consider smashing it to pieces*.

This exhibit was constructed in the artist's bedroom in an undisclosed location before being disassembled and transported 24,903 miles to the Lower Seskatchewan Museum of Science and Toaster Streudels.

Artist's commentary:
"I made this because I wanted to use the pinball update to make a game where you could actually win or lose, and because it reminded me of those little marble challenge games I'd play as a kid, as well as big cool marble runs I would see in museums but that were always out of order.
