My first Gmod TTT map based on my little brother's Sims4 house!
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

This map is based on a house my little brother made in Sims4. No content was extracted from Sims4 in the creation of this project. This map is not compiled for HDR so it can only be played in LDR. There is a problem with the specular reflections that causes some props to be extremely bright despite building the cubemaps correctly. In the future I will replace these props and compile the map for LDR and HDR.

Many of the custom textures I made were created with a lot of help from some artists and photographers on Pixabay. That said, if you have a Pixabay account, you may use any of the textures in my map (including the ones I made without Pixabay as a resource) in any of your maps or creations. If you don't have a Pixabay account, I wouldn't recommend using any of the textures as the use of Pixabay's images requires an account. In the future I may use my camera to take some photos myself to use as resources, in which case I will update this description to reflect that.

You may extract my map and use any of the textures from it (as long as you follow the rules of the legal above) in your own creations. You may download and alter the map however you see fit and re-upload it yourself. You may include my map in a collection. You may re-host the map only if I take it down for any reason.

The map was designed and textured entirely by me. Any of the textures that are not by valve were made by me, many of which used altered photographs from Pixabay as a resource to add texture and depth. The artists whose work I used are listed below:

@psychotrisckser strange, might be a glitch with a new update. I'm pretty new at map design so I might have messed something up when compiling it. I'll make sure to open it up in hammer soon to take a look and fix it

Also, I should've told you this, but you probably had a long wait time because you didn't use func_detail correctly...... And you probably didn't even use it at all......... Which is problematic.

Look up some videos about it, cuz it's BASICALLY vital.

I just looked around the map in Gmod and found the nodraw texture lol I thought it would be in a less obvious spot, not the entire underside of the desert lmao

<BattleMedic109> ALSO I never thought about putting the cubemap file next to the map for the upload, but in retrospect it makes sooooo much sense considering I didn't even know the cubemap would export a separate file lol! Originally I would compile the cubemaps, test it ingame with my own map file, it would look good and work fine, I would upload the updated version, then play the subscribed version of the map, and suddenly it would look all broken. For some reason I thought the cubemap was already a part of the file and not something added to my gmod folder, I feel really silly for not noticing that now haha! Thanks a ton for the feedback!

<BattleMedic109> Thanks so much! I'm glad you noticed the boxing bag lol it was my favorite little joke i put in the map. Thanks so much for the tips, you sound like you know a lot about map building so it really helps to get constructive criticism since I'm so new. The mirrors causing leaks would explain the painfully long compile time. I'll make sure to remove them when I next update the map. I also didn't know about the nodraw being visible in-game. I'll make sure next time i update the map to fix that by doing some re-texturing.

ALSO ALSO ALSO, only one side of a brush is supposed to be selected (and not all sides) when making a displacement. If you don't, the hecking nodraw will be visible in-game, which is bruh.

ALSO ALSO, facing mirrors towards eachother (whether they are behind a door or not) will cause map problems (including leaks)
