When the OPC decided it needed to extend the operating range of it's smaller spacecraft, it resulted in development of an external jumpdrive module, codenamed "Project Jumpring". The module has multiple connectors for up to 4 ships or stations, a dedicated beacon and 2 solar panels for a recharging during a standby.

1 beacon to be able to find the module when you want to go home

I love the idea of a jumpdrive platform/attachment. jumpdrives are expensive so this makes large fleets capable of going long distances a (slightly) more economic option.
