The Spectre is designed to be a stealth carrier. It is therefore designed less for combat and more for recon. To this end, it features a camoflauge scheme (fits with caldari sky), deeply recessed engines (to hide engine flames from sight), recessed windows with camoflauged grate coverings (hides reflections), and multiple communications equipment.

It is capable of carrying around 8 Sparrow fighters, and can use its gravity catapult to give them a boost (although a small one) upon exiting the carrier. The primary use for this catapult, however, is to launch two probes into enemy space. These probes contain both decoys and beacons, and when the enemy accidentally destroys one of these decoys, the beacon is deactivated, which in turn tells the Spectre the general position of enemy ships.
