So if anyone else finds themself having this issue then try that.
What do you mean by 'the settings maybe'? What settings do you see? Is there a dropdown box with a list of Presets?
Do this:
Disable every single mod. All of them. Except for Alternate Camera Expanded.
Go into the level editor.
Press G.
Select the Strategic preset from the dropdown list of presets.
Now press 8 to go into play mode. The camera should be far back from the player.
If you've already done all of these steps exactly and the camera doesn't change, then I'm not sure what is going on. You can try verifying your game files, and clearing the Overgrowth cache in the Documents folder.
If you are on the Discord server (https://discord.com/invite/wolfire) shoot me a ping and we can get in a VC and figure this out.
Some common problems that might occur:
Make sure that the mod is enabled
Make sure you are using the correct version of the mod (stable or internal_testing)
Make sure you have other aschar mods (such as the flying mod or bloody combat) uninstalled. These mods will clash.
