Boobs and butts aside, the mod itself is SO much fun! I honestly didn't find the boss too challenging, as the comment section made me pretty educated on how I should prepare. The mobs made me sweat (in that Darkest Dungeon fashion) and added some fresh challenge to a game that's been going stale for me for a while.
I'll also say, just brief aside, as someone who has several other invasion mods (including the Levantine Invasion) I think it was just really hilarious to have several invasions happen to my lil hamlet back to back to back. First a bandit mob. Then a circus. Then a bunch of half naked muscle women. /Great/ lmao.
All in all, this mod is something that I love a lot, and I just wish more of these mobs were ported into playable classes! Can't wait to see more when I finally boot up Black Reliquary !
I didn't find this mod to be too particularly horny. I mean, there was one mob in particular (it just felt weird to have a bunch of naked cheeks pointed directly at me ahaha). But honestly, even for THAT mob in particular, just about everything is animated fantastically and truthful to the overall tone of the game.
All of the mobs in general, while scanty and sporting larger than normal body - I feel are married very heavily towards theme. These feel like fully fleshed out, immersive characters that could believably come from a culture that shares an origin with the Hellion - which I found to be a fantastic touch. I'll also say that, as a woman with a much larger body type (that I literally make a living off of) I find it EXTREMELY nice to see other huge women in circumstances like these. Representation is something that I adore - and I can't wait to see what Black Reliquary has to offer someday.
Boss is lame, though - not even too hard, just lame. DD2-style cleave and weakness spam with a buff that just goes 'nuh uh' to the usual things to counter cleave spam is really unimaginative, especially considering how interesting the other mobs are. You just burst her to death before she chain crits you into the ground, and hope she doesn't spam her heal. That's the boss.
If you're mostly vanilla you should avoid unless you're very hardcore. This is a boss that gets multiple attacks multiple times a round, and has invincible barriers that they move through each round. This also ensures that things like marking don't work, because they will lose marks (up to three-four rounds) after you mark them. Cause they move that much, lol. It's a beatable boss if you know what to expect and have a team comp designed specifically for it. Tough part is then getting to it with that comp, because the enemies are also dangerous. But be ready for that, because the mechanics of this boss make certain strategies impossible. Not in a clever way, in my opinion, just as an oversight or poor judgement call by the designer.
Really sucks for me because I went in with a team SPECIFICALLY MADE to mark and destroy enemies. So basically I lost at the selection screen. It did not matter because by the time I mark them they are unmarked by my next heroes action. Every. Time. That, seems really unfair. I get the whole mechanic of moving them down the line for special attacks, but... does it have to delete marking from the game?
