Class description
Destroyers (DD) are a class of smaller to midsize warships, highly specialized into either torpedoboats, for anti-naval and anti-sub warfare, Anti-Air destroyers and Anti-ship destroyers. Usually carrying a comparably large powerplant, they often have LAMS equiped. These ships focus on speed, and are often used for interdicting enemy fleets. Destroyers evolve into cruisers and battlecruisers.

The ship
The Vengence class destroyer is one of the oldest classes in the fleet. It was conceived primarily as AA destroyer, back when most other vessels primarily had heavy guns as main armament. It would operate mostly alongside the Supremacy frigates and Aegis cruisers. Over the years, these ships were retrofitted and received either dual use rapid fire cannons (Supremacy) or went on to become dedicated AA ships themselves (Aegis). The role of the Vengence changed slightly, too, with a reinforced torpedo array. It is now a AA and ASW platform, carrying two rapid fire guns and six quad torpedo launchers. Backed with AA missiles, it's a potent ship.
