First, exit stormworks and go into your steam library. look for the search bar and search "Stormworks". In your library right click "Stormworks", a little menu will pop up. Click on the properties and you will enter into a big menu. Finally, click on local files & "Verify Integrity Of Game Files". Simply wait for the process to end and test stormworks. This saved me from constant crashing!
Method 2 (Soldatoluca)
Simply reinstall the game.

no you will keep them, the saves are stored in appdata/roaming/stormworks

will i lose any saved creations if i reinstall? or is there a way i can turn auto save off because instead of auto saving the the game just eats dirt and freezes.

I'm having problems now after wanting to return to the game, Stormworks on a black background, music and then crash, I don't even get to the menu, I've tried verifying, Reinstalling with and without a restart inbetween, Installing on a different drive and reinstalling after having deleted every file.

good guy you might have corrupted files, try deleting everything in the steam stormworks folder. try deleting it in file folder and if you cant its corrupted. In that case you will need an external program to delete the corrupted files.

i have tried EVERYTHING IT WONT STOP CRASHING EVERY TIME I LOAD UP A MAP IT FREEZES THEN CRASHES IVE DELETED RANDOM FILES AND REPAIRED REINSTALLED RAN AS ADMIN VERIFIED INTEGRITY CLEARED CACHE ive tried everything TT
