Warp-capable high-G recon SV for Reforged


The Calliope is a long-range SV designed to scan sectors and planets in any environmental condition. It comes equipped with a long range radar, and is intended to be upgraded with a Reforged Eden short range antimatter warp drive so that it can warp between stars (note: upgrading the warp drive requires quantum extenders or an auxiliary CPU). It has only basic armament, mainly to dispatch drones in orbit or to clear ground troops when surveying a planet. A heavy shield will keep you safe under fire.

She is 5G lift capable when you enable the "Max Lift" switch on the control panel. There is a physical "Flight Mode" switch in the cockpit that will enable and disable the appropriate thrusters and weapons so the ship will stay in low power usage when not being flown. I recommend using the custom signal switches in the control panel to activate devices.

The "Spotlights" and "Floodlights" signal switches in the control panel control the external lighting. "Spotlights" will enable only the forward facing lights for navigation, while "Floodlights" enables 360 degree surround and underside lighting for exploring dark planets.

You have all of the major comforts you would expect on a long-range vessel: constructor, trauma station, armor lockers, fridges, O2 stations, and a completely oxygenated interior. It has a 32k controller for holding cargo, a 7k ammo controller, two 1.1k controllers for weapons and fuel, and several smaller cargo boxes. The rest of the interior is fluff. Drones can be deployed from inside the ship by facing your back to the central glass ceiling, deploying your drone, and then exiting the drone through a side door.

All generators are accessible for repair if required. Six are accessible in the ceiling of the interior, and the seventh is accessible through a hatch on the underside of the starboard wing.

All doors, passenger seats, and health devices are public by default. All storage and the pilot seat are private.

Built for the September 2021 Anvil Designer's Challenge hosted by XCaliber[www.twitch.tv], which was to create a small vessel who's focus is to recon or survey a planet or orbit to relay data to the fleet.
