A really, really quick mod. For some reason Swamp Raptors and Blood Spiders were both part of the 'Swamp Creatures' faction - the minor, possibly intentional consequence, is that Blood Spiders won't attack Swamp Raptors, but the VERY annoying consequence is that Blood Spiders and Swamp Raptors are 'allies', meaning they'll help eachother in combat. This means fighting off Swamp Pests could bring on a blood spider swarm or vise versa, and could quickly snowball.

This mod puts Blood Spider squads in the Swamps to Spiders, where they should be. I considered making a 'Blood Spiders' faction, but I figure 'Spiders' works since the chances of them finding (and fighting) a skin spider are pretty minimal.

Modded blood spider squads won't be affected by this mod. If there is a mod that adds a large number of problematic blood spider squads, inform me, and I will make a follow-up compatibility patch for them.

This is a large part of why Swampers evaporate randomly. Blood spiders attacking Swampers can cause swamp raptors to join in, causing big problems for gate guards. The numbers are so large that inevitably the turrets start firing, which causes friendly fire- an extinction level event that kills every shopkeeper in close proximity to swamp gangs.

swamp raptors were spawning in the forest for me, though thankfully i didn't run into any issues with them ganging up on me while fighting spiders. they did however gang up on the spiders in the spider faction when they attacked the swamp creature spiders. thanks for the fast reply by the way!

@ScrubbaNubNub Fixed it.
I missed some burning forest squads, since those are called 'mini'. The burning forest spawns a few adults/elders in a squad, or a massive swarm of infants - those will be 'Spiders' too, now, though I imagine it wasn't too problematic, since I don't think Swamp Raptors spawn in the forest.

this mod does not seem to always work as i tend to still find packs of blood spiders in the swamp creatures faction. interestingly, all roaming packs of blood spiders that i have seen as part of the spiders faction are always adult, with the rare elder or two. comparably, swamp creature blood spiders have a wide range of ages in their packs instead of exclusively adults

I believe skin spiders are the grown version of blood spiders but my best guess is that the ones found in the swamp are adapted to not grow further for some reason

The spiders in this game are just nightmare versions of the spiders I know and fear.

Also (not confirmed) skin spiders might be grown up blood spiders so it would make even more sense if that unconfirmed fact is true
