Tool Description

This mod primarily contains a tool for playing BiOS games in a campaign format.

BiOS games from Sierra Madre Games/Ion Game Design are simulation-like games that focus on the creation, evolution, and struggles of life from microorganism all the way to globalization by an intelligent lifeform. Each game covers a different period. Games are primarily intended to played as standalone experiences, but with a variant of the rules, 1-4 players can play a campaign from BiOS: GENESIS -> BiOS: MEGAFAUNA -> BiOS: ORIGINS, retaining your advantages and some history of your organism from one game to the next.

This mod includes a book that functions as a bag for keeping any campaign assets carrying over from one game to next. Additionally, there's a scripted Campaign Sheet that has input fields for keeping track of campaign progress in between sessions and game loads. On the back of the sheet is a quick guide reference for campaign play.

Copies of the relevant games with scaled/physically accurate parts are included in their boxes; however, you would be completely setting up and taking down each game without scripting (as in the physical world) if you use this mod file to play these games.

I recommend copy and pasting/importing the campaign bag into your preferred mod versions of the BiOS series that are elsewhere on workshop.

The campaign tool should be mostly compatible with all Bios versions, but the scripted function to consolidate/attach multiple components (like cratons) may be specific to a few mods due to tag systems and component types. (This was designed with the 'Ascetic' mod versions tagging system and components).

BiOS Trilogy Mods

SamuelW's Scripted BiOS Mods (Official versions): These have scripted tools and UIs to handle setup and some automation. Sam has spent a lot of time developing tools to make these games quicker to play.

My 'Ascetic' BiOS Mods: These only include scripting when necessary to alleviate quirky behavior with how TTS handles some components (like cratons) and to provide a limited amount of convenience for a few monotonous tasks. These focus more on the physical immersive experience. Campaign tool was designed with these versions as primary.

Instructions

Input Fields: Throughout the campaign sheet, there's input boxes that you can click and type text into. The sheet will save these values in between loads.

Scripted Buttons: For carrying over Megafauna cratons (or Genesis macroorganisms if desired), there's scripted buttons to merge/consolidate all tokens/base card/object into one. This allows you to store a craton continent with all its tokens in relevant positions easily into a bag for loading into the next game. To use, left click+drag to box select the relevant items you want to merge. Then click the 'Consolidate' button on the sheet. To unmerge for any reason, select the merged object and click the 'Break' button on the sheet.

Updated script to also use the tagging system in the official mods for the "Consolidate" and "Break" Craton merging buttons for full compatibility with official mods.
