Where otherwise you would die, instead you lay on the ground nearly helpless, a brief reprieve from death. You can be revived, if done swiftly, otherwise death will follow.


  • When you take damage that would normally kill you, you'll instead receive a Mortal Wound. You will be knocked to the ground in a very weakened state until either revived or you succumb to your wounds.
  • If you have any of the Mortal Wounds healing agents on you, you can revive yourself when wounded in your player radial menu(R key). If not, you MAY get lucky and revive yourself. If not, you will die.
  • Other players can revive you, assuming they have any Mortal Wounds healing agents.
  • You can revive wounded tamed dinos.
  • Access the wounded creature's radial menu and choose the item to heal them with. The larger the dino, the longer reviving will take and also the more healing agents required. The better the healing item the more effective the revival will be. Healing items must be in the inventory of the person doing the reviving.


  • The healing items can be crafted in Mortar and Pestles and Chemistry Benches, both Vanilla and S+ variants, as well as in Equus and Unicorns.
  • They can be crafted at levels 10, 50 and 85.
  • The time you stay wounded and the time to be revived depends on the creatures drag weight.
  • Spoil times are 1 hour for each of the healing items.
  • Does not work on wild dinos.
  • Should work on all dinos, modded and vanilla.
  • Does not edit, alter, remap or replace vanilla game assets.
  • Clean & Stackable.
  • Tons of configs listed below, to adjust as you see fit.

There are no engrams.

  • Time to revive is based on drag weight. Minimum 1s for small dinos and at a maximum of 30s for the largest ones. Players are always 3s.
  • Time to stay wounded is based on drag weight. Minimum 30s and maximum 10m.
  • Mortal Wounds cooldown is displayed in the creatures(or players) radial menu as well as on the buff.

so I've tested this a bit and it seems when a Dino/person gets hit by a status effect like Carno bleed or Wyvern fire before they get downed, the status effect can insta kill them after they get downed, I don't know if this is intentional or not, but could you make an ini file to adjust downed health, like percent of their total health, example, a Bronto with 10k hp can be left with 1k hp left to prevent statuses from killing through the Invul, I think that could help. i love this mod so far, and cannot wait to see what else you may create.

Make a mod for the speed of movement of survivors. Vanilla speed is 45 km/h . But people don't run at that speed. Many ark players will be grateful to you if you create this mod. It will add realism and make a deeper immersion in the game )

So explain to me how to make sure that a fallen dinosaur does not follow me and/or does not attack enemy dinosaurs while lying down??

When creatures fall, they may continue to follow the player. A nasty glitch. Am I the only one who gets it?

Our MortalWoundInvulTimeSeconds=600.0 which is the real problem, that's the important piece of info I forgot sorry. So we should be invuln immediately once going into the Wounded state and for the entire duration (more or less), but still if you get low from a Ravager bleed you will skip Wounded and just die immediately. When I update next, it'll be fixed. In the mean time, you could always change MortalWoundInvulTimeSeconds to like 11 seconds to avoid it, if it makes sense for your server.

Also, the fix will be a little...mean might be the right now. It'll be removing all buffs that are certain types(diseases/poisons/etc) and everything that has an automatic deactivation time(ie: ravagers). This will likely end up removing some friendly buffs as well, but since you did "die"...Im fine with that :)

Seems like the wild Ravager bleed is able to bypass the wounded state and instantly kill players and tamed dinos. Had it happen every time we fight Ravagers so far (our wounded state chance is 100%, works fine everywhere else) on myself and other players and several different kinds of tamed dinos. (dedicated server, pve, no friendly fire, Fjordur, no mods that affect Ravagers).
