**Not suppored since 2015 Use with Caution**

* Requires the Hearthfires DLC *

This mod adds three NPC homes and a mine around the Hearthfires Windstad Manor. I’ve always loved the views from this DLC house but it seemed so bleak and lonely. I’ve taken liberties with the history of Feudalism to add several Freemen or Free Tenants to liven up the place. Now your adopted children have a buddy to play with and you don’t have to travel far to sell your loot!

You’ll find the carriage driver now has a name and a family. His long suffering wife also sells cooked food and items from her garden. An orc couple built a simple house to the rear of the property and act as blacksmith and apothecary vendors. There is also a khajiit miner who will no longer mine and has turned to selling things on the black market. **Find out why he is afraid of the mine by exploring it yourself**

Features:

* Expanded outdoor blacksmithing area
* Smith’s cottage
* Abandoned mine (with mining nodes and some loot)
* Miner’s shack
* Carriage house and garden (with an extra horse, cow, and chickens)
* Five new NPCs (four adults that are vendors and one child) with their own daily schedules and relationships

Notes:

* This mod requires the Hearthfires DLC and will totally crash your game without it!
* I made NO changes to the Manor house itself. Build it however you like.
* These structures are in the game as soon as you download the mod, it shouldn't matter if you have built your house or not.
* This should work just fine with other mods that change the INTERIOR of the Manor house.
* This WILL CONFLICT badly with any mod that changes the EXTERIOR of Windstad Manor.
* The new NPCs are all allies and will fight to defend each other.

Updates:
* Added a better place for the miner to sleep. A small shack now stands where his tent was.

Quality mod, just wish there were more ingots and misc. items to steal in the houses. Residents are super powerful and helped me kill a giant that killed one of my cows and a chicken. Only problem is you can sell to merchants but they will not give you gold.

This is fantastic, Ticklefeather. I like the refreshing lack of oppressive walls, the Carriage House, the way the buildings blend in so nicely, how they are decorated, the NPCs and the Fish trough! It was fun discovering the creepy secrets of the Mine and the hidden easter egg. In time maybe one day Ma'jarr will swing a pickaxe again and perhaps the Orc couple will adopt a child that Erich can play with. Thank You. I will likely spend a lot more time in Winstad in future. :steamhappy:

For people wanting Guards On Your Home, I googled and found an existing mod specifically for Hearthfire homes. I picked the basic version to test and, so far, that works fine.

@ Satorias Wow! I'm not sure what is causing your game to freeze there. I haven't had anyone else report that, it may be a conflict with another mod. Those are difficult to trouble shoot.

@ Everyone else...the poor driver's kid is "playing in the dirt" or so the idle marker says. :D I wish I could script him to play games with our adopted children but that is way more than I am able to do. Just don't leave him alone with Meeko. ;)

I had a question. I seem to have a small problem now...I am inside the mine, but as I try to leave, the game consistantly freezes over and over again...any suggestions?

Hmmm Ticklefeather, this must get boring - or maybe not - I LOVE THIS MOD, Totally fits especially with Morthal being so far away.
I was wondering if I might be totally rude and ask for a friend for the Khajiit, he just seems so lonely on his own, and it would give more money to them to buy things ?
Also I have the same concern as 'toosoon2u' the kid hangs around and just stabs the ground, or ??? I don't adopt kids as I prefer to wander and sort out the province. I did not remember they were the carriage drivers family, I will make sure I get it. Thank you. Be well and please, keep on modding thank you so much . Cheers
