Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan 2021 - Taliban and IEA Police

It is September 2021, 20 years to the month since 9/11, 2001 an event which plunged America into a brutal two-decade war in the landlocked central Asian country of Afghanistan.

In advance of America's hastily announced August 31, 2021 withdrawal from the nation, the Taliban (a tribal militia with approximately 85,000 soldiers) have overthrown the Afghan government and seized supplies and materiel from the formerly US-backed Afghan National Army and National Police.

While some of the equipment is confirmed to have been destroyed in the US withdrawal, and some of it has been delivered to safe third countries or opposition groups by the retreating National Army, tens of thousands of vehicles and weapons are believed to have fallen into Taliban hands.

For their part, the Taliban have seized control of the capital Kabul, and are patrolling the streets with 21st century US-made weapons and equipment as well as a newly minted uniformed special forces group (Badri 313). After deposed president Ashraf Ghani fled the country, the Taliban have declared a new government, or 'Islamic Emirate' for Afghanistan. They have also pledged to no longer harbour terror groups such as Al Qaeda or ISIL-K (Khorasan) a local Afghani Daesh affiliate group. In the northern province of Panjshir a group of similarly equipped fighters calling itself the "National Resistance Front of Afghanistan" has raised the flag of the old Northern Alliance and vowed to oppose the Taliban. The nation teeters on the brink of all-out civil war.

This modification will be altered/improved with new factions, units, groups and improved/tweaked loadouts, as well as being signed in coming days. It was built to use on the CLA Afghan Map with the Vindicta mission. This compilation uses assets from RHS, 3CB, ACE and Tac Vests (Beards and RRV Vests). We have built the addon using ALIVE Orbatron, but ALIVE is not necessary to play. Until we're fully up and running, you can have "fun" in singleplayer and the editor learning about the new capabilities of the world's most heavily armed religious extremist group. Because it's 2021.
