In this mod I did a variety of tweaking to various aspects of farming. While hemp is intended to be incredibly efficient/versatile/good, it's so good that it overshadows many other crops. Greenfruit for whatever reason have a very (annoyingly) small output by default, causing it to be a pain when you're trying to do your conga line of Gohan or Foodcubes.

In addition, I modified values of certain food to add more balance. The gaps in efficiency with food are pretty glaring issues in vanilla Kenshi, and this mod aims to fix that.

Some of the changes include:

- Greenfruit, Cactus, and Cotton output increased to be comparable to Riceweed.

- Water is now acquired at x5 time rate. Water is such a massive ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pain in the base game that I STILL recommend installing a moisture farm mod regardless.

- Certain crops can now be grown in more areas. For example, Cacti can thrive in any climate, Greenfruit now in swamps as well, Rice in temperate areas, etc.

- Previously uncraftable foods such as Ration Packs and Dried Fish are now craftable. In addition, so are Dried Gristle Flaps and Bloodrum but I do not recommend messing with those as it's still experimental. Research is required for these.

- Hydroponic Cacti and Cotton are now researchable and functional, costing and behaving the same as all Hydroponic farms. Their research requirements are similar as well.

- Food charge/nutrition adjustments. Bread, rice, meatwraps, cooked vegetables, were all buffed in major or minor ways to make them worthwhile options.

UPDATE (8/31):

- Adjusted output of Riceweed to match newly tweaked crops.

- Most crops and water are now stackable, as well as some foods.

- Added and revised descriptions for some items.

UPDATE: 09/03/21

- fixed Foodcube texture so it isn't all ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up anymore

UPDATE 09/08/21:

- Altered name of mod file to match other NewVanilla mods, making it easier to see/sort them in load order.

This is still a work in-progress. I would absolutely love feedback about your thoughts, experiences, etc.

UPDATE 10/19/22:

- Added backpacks for dogs. Included are the mesh and backpack from bspawn's Dog backpack mod:

- Dog backpack debuff slightly increased to a -2 in combat skills

- Dog backpack inventory size reduced to 4x5

UPDATE 3/22/22:

- updated icon for Dried Gristle Flaps. It's a scuffed edit of the dried meat icon from KenshIcons, which can be found below:

Is there a chance of making gristle flaps craftable in campfires. Currently their craft require too much effort for something that should be last resort. Nerffing Grisle flaps from sell value 4 to 2 and value 7 to 5 should be sufficient in order to decrease crafting cost. Becauce while having hiver in team it feels like wasting 50nu to get 5nu.

@Derpy Floppa I don't think game-wise this is something I can change. Since cooking is usually done using raw goods, the game might not be able to recognize cooking components that are already cooked as something to auto-haul. Especially since food storage can be a mixed-good storage. I'll see what I can do and get back to you within the day.

issue, when making ration packs my chef wont auto pull foodcubes and dried meat from storage, any way you can change this?

@stranger Nothing in this mod changes anything regarding races; I don't personally use living world so I cannot confirm if there may be incompatibilities. Try disabling those mods and see if that does anything.

I did have an issue in vanilla Kenshi at one point where my characters would not eat. Turns out it was pathfinding issues and rebuilding my base/importing fixed it. Let me know if that helps.
