LAAG-12 "Ikrandraco" Light Gunship

A variant of the popular Macronyx light bomber, the Ikrandraco dispenses with the former's air to ground armament in favour of a unconventional four sponson mounted weapons, designed to operate as a light gunship for intercepting unsuspection Dominion fighters and bombers. Heavily modified, the craft has a considerably larger wingspan due to dispensing with the biplane layout for improved firing arcs, with the sponsons of obselete tanks from the last war stripped of their armour and bolted to each side; the four gunners crammed in and reliant on a few vision ports to spot targets, a pair of cupolas having been mounted by two of their positions to improve visiblity, if not comfort. Quickly nicknamed "Winged Pillbox" by crews and allies, the unique design met with much early success, largely due to how unexpected it was, and continues to prove effective at escorting bomber formations and securing coalition airspace.
