The Northeast Corridor Club Layout (Boston to Philadelphia)

The Northeast Corridor is the busiest passenger railroad in the country. It is primarily known for being one of the only high speed railroads in the United States. For almost two centuries, sections of it have connected major cities along the eastern seaboard. Currently, it runs from Boston, Massachusetts to Washington DC. It is primarily used by Amtrak and also provides miles of mainline for major shipping companies like CSX.. On a given day, nearly a million people are transported on some part of the corridor. Thousands of trains are needed in order to pull off this feat.

This club-style layout represents the corridor in the late 1980’s. The layout starts in Boston. Eventually the line loops around just outside of Philadelphia. New Haven and New York are also some major cities included on the layout. There are also numerous small towns and villages you’ll find along the mainline. Each city and town has a station to stop at. There are two separate tracks on the corridor and a single freight line. There are also numerous fictional train yards for shunting operations.
