Sluggo [Dog]

The Sluggo, native to Rhe, is a land-dwelling gastropod with a tough hide perpetually moistened by a viscous excretion meant to disgust would-be predators.

The surprisingly quick speed of the fungivore is not its main defense; nor are the spiky protrusions along its spine, nor the aforementioned yucky goo. Its primary repellent is a capacity to emit one of the foulest odors in the known universe; through glands located in intimate proximity to its main waste orifice it can spray, for several meters, a gas-infused liquid that can incapacitate (and sometimes kill) a large being of your choice.

Otherwise, they are quite docile. Don't threaten, startle, or intimidate them and -- I am told -- they make a very nice family pet...
