Old Town Hall

Greetings! This mod contains the old town hall from Riga (Latvia). You can place it on the city square of your old city and it will perfectly complement the ensemble of old Baltic architecture from my other mods.

In Riga, at the very exit from the Stone Bridge thrown across the Daugava, the Town Hall Square is located. This is one of the most famous places in the Old Town. It is on it that the Riga City Hall is located, where the city administration is located today. It was built in the first half of the 13th century, when it became necessary to locate city government somewhere in the city. True, the residence of the first town hall was located at the Great Gate, framing the central entrance to Riga. Many events passed before many times the rebuilt city government building was finally moved to the most important city square. Popular uprisings, wars, sieges, fires destroyed buildings one after another. The Town Hall was also rebuilt three times after the destruction, and at the end of the 19th century the institution of self-government was abolished and the need for it disappeared.
The modern building of the Riga City Hall, built at the end of the 90s of the last century, is a copy of the most recent residence, which was destroyed during the war. Since it was rather difficult to recreate it completely due to the lack of plans and documents, architects today evaluate the results of construction differently. In my opinion, this is not the worst copy of a historic building, at least compared to the Russian ones.
