Union Pacific SD70ACe Trio - 8461, 8485 and 8491

描述
(Requires ABStudio's new SD70ACe pack).

(Be sure to check out my YouTube channel, where I have a video of these engines in action, as well as other SD70ACe re-skins).

This pack includes three additional number variants for the Union Pacific SD70ACe model; numbers 8461, 8485 and 8491. I was originally going to add 1111 and 4141 too, but KeviDJ has already made re-skins of those engines. Not to mention that they're very good and accurate, so there isn't really any point in me making my own versions:

1111 - https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2568621917
4141 - https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2568640303

(8461 was originally requested by The Trainfan 9782. As for 8485 and 8491, they were originally requested by leziaeevra).

Between 2005 and 2013, EMD built at least 500 SD70ACe locomotives for the Union Pacific Railroad. The newer engines have their headlights placed in the nose, while the older ones - such as those represented in this pack - have their headlights placed just above the cab windows.

All three engines represented here were built in 2006. Unfortunately 8485 and 8491 were involved in the Chatsworth train collision on September 12th, 2008. I won’t go into too many details, but all I’ll say is that it was a collision between a Metrolink passenger train and a UP freight train. The Metrolink locomotive was number 855, an EMD F59PH built in 1992.

For more information on the Chatsworth accident, I recommend watching this video by Thunderbolt 1000 Siren Productions:

The Metrolink F59PH and both UP locomotives were written off after the accident. While the F59PH was quickly scrapped, UP 8485 and 8491 were stored in Oxnard, California until December 2009. In that month they were covered in white wrapping of some kind, and in January 2010 she was transferred to West Colton. Both engines are assumed to be scrapped.

As for 8461, she was one of the engines that got the nickname ‘Thundercab’. This is because the earlier SD70ACe locomotives gained an infamous reputation for loud and noisy cabs, which generated loud rattling noises and failed to insulate exterior sounds such as the prime mover, wind rushing past and other trackside noises. The fiasco has since been sorted out, and 8461 is still in service with UP today. She is now 15 years old.

Unfortunately no, as the only F59PH model I'm aware of isn't publicly available.
