[totally broken] Ore Particle Cannon

Keep the miners mining and the refineries refining with a more efficient method of ore collection and transportation built into one ship. No more need to stop drilling 'roid to haul your load back to base. The ore is sent straight to the refineries almost immediately after it was taken out of the rock.

Using gravity fields, the ore is tractored directly from the drilling vessels and onto "the pan" where it's funneled into a collector. The fields grab the loose bits that the drills don't which normally float around or fly off and are not recoverable. This increases your yield by capturing 100% of the rock you mine. No more wasted Ore! The ship then pipes the ore up to the Particle Projection Cannon*.

At the cannon, the ore is injected into the acceleration chamber where it is shot towards the Refinery Platform 3000 meters away**. The platform has been fitted with an array of collectors coupled with gravity generators to capture the ore that was mined mere seconds earlier.

The drilling vessels can dock with the mother-ship before it moves to the next asteroid. The collector array at the platform will need to be pointed at the new location or loss of ore may occur.

As Engineers, we should be solving the practical problems.

Important: Be aware that if the small object settings in your save file are set too low, you may be losing ore. That is of course dependent on how far away you are from your target.
