Hello Folks,

today marks the first release of a type of tram which I hold dearly in my heart: the infamous Tatra T4D.
Creating this tram took me nearly two months, a lot of re-adjusting, bug fixing and just finding motivation in general.
Now you get to enjoy the fruits of my labor, after I heavily teased them on my twitter.

Make sure to give me feedback, report bugs you encounter or just type out your general thoughts on this tram, so I can use that feedback to improve the upcoming Tatra trams!

background info:

This CKD Tatra tram was built in 1969 and was the first tram of its type to reach Halle (Saale). It drove like this around for about a decade, but then was assigned a new purpose.
The tram line number 5 to Merseburg didn't have a loop at one of its ends at the time, so trams, which had two drivers cabs at both ends, were needed. CKD Praha didn't produce such trams for East-Germany, so the local tram operating company had to build such a tram themselves.
After a lot of planning, this tram was converted to a bi-directional tatra tram. The rear end was converted to a drivers cab, doors were added to the left side of the vehicle, head- and taillights added to both ends and a second pantograph put on the roof. This pantograph was only used to control the track switches and served no electric purpose.
Finished in 1983, two trams (No. 901 and 902) had been converted, and still exist to this day, although only as museum exhibits.

In-game:

I chose to represent the tram in the year 1988, which is the last year where the trams had the city's coat of arms on its side.
This Tatra tram is very special in the way that it has doors on both sides of the vehicle body. So you can use this tram for lines where there is tram stops on the left hand side.
Most notably the vanilla four-lane road with tram tracks, which has only tram stops on the left hand side of the track.
As there was some clipping issues with the cims, only the middle doors are usable for them.

The trams max speed is just like the original, 55km/h (11 in-game).
The destination indicator which reads "Merseburg" has line-colored letters.
Indicator, head- and taillights are working.

I strongly advise using the Loading Screen Mod to cut down on file size, as this asset shares most of its textures with my Tatra T4DW+T4DW 1988.
If you want a prop version of the vehicle I advise you to use the Tree and Vehicle Props Mod and its Patch.
I don't want to waste too much time on creating prop versions of each vehicle, so using this mod is the better option for now.
