Simply drag the "sound" folder included into your
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2
and replace the files.
Next, load the game and open the console (Usually with the tilde key "~") (https://left4dead.fandom.com/wiki/Console_commands)
after it has opened, type this command snd_rebuildaudiocache and enter. Please wait patiently for it to complete, when the console appears again type exit and reload the game. Now enjoy!
