Autotrain intensifies


In the 1860s, George Armstrong of the GWR designed an 0-4-2T locomotive for the Standard Gauge portions of the GWR network. The 517 Class was intended for light and speedy passenger work, primarily on branch lines and mainline stopping services.


The design was very successful, and in 1932, the design was re-imagined in the GWR Autotank, better known as the 14XX series (initially the 4800s).

The name Autotank comes from the fact these locomotives were fitted with autotrain equipment to allow for push/pull services on branch lines without the need to run the loco around.

This mod contains:
Armstrong 517 Class
Collett 14XX Class
Collett 14XX Class (Reversed)
2 lamps (front and rear) to force the game to allow reversing (for autotrain services)

I don't know if this is just me, But recently i've found when using this and the Metro tank, the spacing between the engine any any rolling stock behind is is *massive* almost 100-200m in distance, Was the model broken in a recent update?

theres this really weird glitch when I use this locomotive leading green rangers generic coaches (old version) the coaches are not visible. ive used different coaches from the same pack before so I dont know whats going on

I hope there is a BR livery at some point so that I can recreate the Titfield Thunderbolt scene where it runs through a town.

I tried the autotank lamps on a US vanilla freight train (GG1 and gondolas) and have the issue that the rear lamp has to be put on the front of the train and the front lamp works best on the rear of the train if you want to ride on board, could it be you accidentally flipped the camera perspective by 180 degrees?

and generally, couldn't you "simply" configure the graphics so that when facing forwards, the front lamp graphics get displayed and while reversing, the rear lamp graphics activate? I think there was a provision for such a usecase in the lighting graphics so only the foremost loco has the triple white and the rearmost loco displays the double red with everybody else having the lights off... If you'd put the lamp graphics in that folder, you'd make it kinda more user-friendly by making it impossible to ♥♥♥♥ up the lamp positions... I think, just a thing I've been wondering about...

This mod is simply wonderful, The 14xx is the perfect little tank engine for any small branchline, I must though, any plans for a 5700?, There's not been one in Transport Fever since TpF1

And that's the final missing piece for a Titfield Thunderbolt before the steam roller sabotage act done as well! Thank you ever so much for this! I love it so damn much!
