Tranz Scenic DCP Pack

描述
(Requires Bug's NZ Class DC Pack).

(This pack includes the three DCP locomotives that carried Tranz Rail blue, albeit with the Tranz Scenic logo instead of the usual).

(I know 4761 had yellow running boards in real life, but unfortunately I couldn’t figure out how to add that detail to the re-skin).

For reference, the real 4559, 4628 and 4761 were built in the following years:

4559 - built in 1967 (rebuilt from DA 1539)
4628 - built in 1964 (rebuilt from DA 1491)
4761 - built in 1963 (rebuilt from DA 1463)

They were all rebuilt by Clyde Engineering in the early 1980s. Incidentally I’ve just noticed that the highest-numbered engine in this trio is ironically the oldest.

As with most of the rest of the DC class, these engines kept running into the privatisation era. Initially under New Zealand Rail Limited from 1993, then Tranz Rail from 1995. In 2002, Tranz Rail sold 14 DCs to Tranz Scenic 2001 Ltd; a company that operated long-distance passenger services (including the now-extinct Southerner and the still-active Tranz Alpine). It was created as an off-shoot of Tranz Rail during their restructuring.

The 14 DCs that were sold to Tranz Scenic were reclassified as DCP, with the ‘P’ standing for passenger. During this period, DCPs 4559 and 4761 were often allocated to the Tranz Alpine, the world-famous Christchurch to Greymouth service. They were chosen for this role because they were in the same blue livery as the coaches (for the most part). The operators even went so far as to apply the Tranz Scenic logo to 4559 and 4761, as well as 4628.

Of course, these DCPs didn’t keep Tranz Scenic colours forever. Interestingly they ran right through the Toll Rail era (2003 to 2008) without ever receiving the ‘Corn Cob’ livery. 4559 was repainted in the KiwiRail livery in 2009, with 4761 following suit in 2010 and 4628 in 2011. The three engines all retained their ‘DCP’ classification.

As far as I know, 4559, 4628 and 4761 are all still in service with KiwiRail today, and the engines are now 54, 57, and 58 years old respectively. If my research is correct, they are all still based in the South Island.
