Grated Catwalks Expansion No Top-Mounting

描述


This mod is slightly different to the Grated Catwalk Expansion Complete pack, in that the invisible mounting points have been removed.

If you have a world with the regular Grated Catwalk Expansion already used, you can swap out the regular mod for this one. However it will probably cause issues with disconnections if you have connected any blocks to the tops of the catwalk pieces.

In the future, if you want to swap back, it is the exact same process - just swap the mods in the load settings and you should be good to go.

The person below me has an issue with ladder caps, can confirm this exists in the main mod as well as i just ran into it....

I'm having issues with the ladder caps. They seem to inhibit the animation for exiting ladders at the top, so the basic one causes me to simply fall down the ladder half the time, and the caged one drops me 100% of the time. It's unfortunate, because they're absolutely perfect pieces, conceptually, and visually.

FYI Half-width stairs support left & right don't seem to touch the corner narrow stairs

Cool. I'm envious of you modders. I took a crack at modding but was never able to get the right apps needed or good learning material. This game would have died already without you guys, thanks.

@ Morpheus - The invisible mounting point causes issues by unintentionally merging grids. Also for some players it is more realistic, depending on their play style. The invisible mount point at the moment doesn't add much to the blocks, but in the future I'm hoping to include new blocks that will be mounted to the top of a catwalk and interact with it in some way. Things like different rails, decals for catwalk edges, roofing etc.

Honest question, what does removing the invisible mounting point offer? Is there a building advantage like 2 blocks occupying the same block space?
