bwegt, 4+4 Car Double Consist


The Desiro HC was presented at Innotrans 2014. The multiple unit has both one-story and two-story cars and is intended to combine the advantages of both concepts with more space. The middle part of the powered one-story end car and the lower deck of the powered two-story intermediate car can be reached from the platform without steps or ramps. A four-part train with two double-decker cars is 105 meters long and offers 400–420 seats, depending on the version, while a five-part train with three double-decker cars is 131 meters long and offers space for 560 passengers.
