City 17 but it's Minecraft (Half-Life 2)

City 17 is an Eastern-European city, imprisoned under the rule of the alien race known as the Combine. In particular, the Combine have set up their central headquarters in this city, with human representative Dr. Wallace Breen residing in the colossal citadel at the center of town. The city's residents are oppressed and downtrodden, but fate takes a dramatic turn as a certain bespectacled man shows up in town after having been missing for 20 years…


Once upon a time, I decided to remake City 17 (or at least a part of it) in Minecraft. In the Release 1.8 era, in particular. Then, at a later point, I decided to be meta and then recreate my recreation back in Source again. I did the project 2/3rds of the way through, and then… just put off the last part for like 3 years. And, so, here we are.

These maps feature my own take on City 17 in Minecraft, though a bit of the layout was also taken from rp_city17 by BoyV and co., which is linked below. In particular, included are the Train Station, Plaza, and Apartments + Kleiner's Lab. Also, since I am not bound by the restrictions of Minecraft here, there may be an illegal block here and there. For the sake of aesthetics.

The maps are named gm_mc_c17station, gm_mc_c17plaza and gm_mc_c17apartments.

As well, there are a few secrets here and there across the maps; can you find them all? (There's also a clipping texture somewhere, I know about it, you don't need to tell me)

Now, there was a significant time-gap between the making of the Station + Plaza, and the Apartments. As such, the third map has a higher level of polish, with all the tips and tricks I've learned in three years or so. The first two maps are still all good and playable, but if you want to see them shined up like the third, then consider donating to my Ko-Fi (linked at the bottom of the description) to show me your support.
