SS Orbita by RoomMic

As seen in Presidio Bay!

The SS Orbita was built for the Pacific Steam Navigation Co. in 1913, by Harland and Wolff of Belfast. She served as a troopship in both world wars, and was broken up in the early 1950s. This is the ship as it was in the 1920s, under PSNC ownership and in their colors.

This is a small ocean liner. Older ships like these crossed the Atlantic and serviced other secondary routes from the 1900s to the 1950s.

Note that this ship is long, coming in at 550 feet (167.5 M). It's high in tris.

Asset Information

Has custom smoke and wake effects with Vehicle Effects. Functions as a cruise ship ingame. Speed can be changed using AVO. A ploppable version is included!

If you use LSM, most textures should be shared, which will reduce the overall size.

I've recently modelled some (smaller) ships myself, and I really appreciate this one. Very well made model and a beautiful ocean liner.

My mother is named Orbita, after her mother who was named for this ship. Both born in Belfast. What a weirdly niche but wonderful thing to find in one of my favourite games.

Edit: The SS Samaria was a Ship of the (more or less famous) Laconia Class of the Cunard Line. Yes, exactly: THE Laconia, which was sunk in 1942 by a German Submarine and gained an extraordinary fame due to "certain circumstances"!
In addition to the Laconia class, there was also a Franconia class.

Oh, and: The ship is not to be confused with the first RMS Laconia from 1912, a two funnel Ship!
Yes, there were two ships of that name. The same goes for Franconia.
These both ships were lost during the First World War (Franconia 1916, Laconia 1917).

My absolute favorite is the RMS Mauretania from 1907 (Four Funnel ship of the Cunard Line, sister ship of the famous RMS Lusitania from 1906. there was also a second RMS Mauretania from 1938.)
Another Ship I love very much from Cunard (in between times Cunard White Star) is the SS Samaria (II). She was a 19,600 GRT One Funnel Steamship which started her service in 1922. It survived the second world war and was scrapped in 1956.

I really love these ships (and no, not just the british ones)!
