The Blandford Collection of Antiquities

描述
Welcome to the virtual Blandford Collection of antiquities. The collection includes 3D scans of Greek and Roman artefacts, terracotta figures, pottery, bracelets, pins, roof tiles and fragments from Britain, Greece and Egypt.

There are lots of 3D scanned museum collections online but at the University of Bristol, we're trying something different. Rather than just 'looking' you're encouraged to sort, modify, drop, shrink, grow and throw the artefacts around! You can request a box of items by using the buttons on the rostrum and you'll find clipboards with an inventory of items in each box.

Boxes contain models with a high poly count, so if performance suffers you can return items by taking them to the ‘Returns’ table.

This collection isn't yet well researched so it's possible you'll spot something we've missed. Please add any insights as 'comments' (especially if you know what the unidentified object is!).

The real world handling collection was donated to the University of Bristol by Dennis Blandford in 2014.

To the dev: It was actually box L BB1065 I believe. The cuneiform is noted on the description list, so I don't think I was of much help, apologies.

Very nice. Perfect lighting. Real Lt adored the detail on the paneling and railing

Hi nightcatpurrs, is that BB1089 from Box A? There's no mention of an inscription in the catalogue so may well be a new discovery?

OK, box one there is something that appears to be a terracotta flask with an aged copper rim? It seems to have some sort of cuneiform or other writing pressed into it. There appears to be a collections tag or label on the side. Maybe it's Arabic or Farsi? Sorry I can't be more specific, but if you have a languages expert look at that, it might help.
