The Ho Chi Min trail is the main funnel of VC equipment into Vietnam, as such, missions are continually being run to disrupt it.

In recent weeks, the supply of arms to the VC has noticeably improved, and our own air support is being limited by the employment of long range SA2 anti-aircraft systems. This has emboldened the VC, who have begun stepping up attacks on US Patrol Bases and COPS, adding unnecessary strain to an already overstretched force.

As such, VIKING Platoon is being dispatched to run additional disruption taskings along the trail, and remove the Missile System and supporting RADAR Installations.

VIKING Platoon is to Search and Destroy NVA forces at known points along the Ho CHi Min trail from 1900 until 0600 Local 23rd June 1968. Focusing on Force Multipliers, Leadership and Supply Caches.

1. Insert at LZ WASHINGTON and LZ BOSTON.
   
2. Assault the SA2 Anti-Aircraft Missile System Location, and destroy it.
   
3. Destroy known Equipment Caches.
   
4. Disable Cambodian RADAR Station.
   
5. Raid PAVN Regional HQ.

You may encounter additional objectives or "Side Quests" as you maneuver through the AO.

VIKING-3 and VIKING-4 will be landing to the North West of our selected LZs, at LZ SEATTLE with the intent that they secure the San Bay Ban Airfield. You should not need to interact with them during this mission.

Success is the destruction of AA Missile systems, known supply caches and OPFOR Leadership. The Platoon should insert at both LZ Washington and LZ Boston, regroup and organise, before moving through the AO on-line, North East.

This mission is fully automated and has zeus access for administrative purposes only. Players must be wary not to push too far past each objective in order not to engage the remaining AOs. The same goes for Aircraft, maintaining a western holding pattern where possible . While most triggers account for accidental activation, this is not infallible, and can still cause problems long term.

Respawns are unlocked by clearing specific tasks in the AO.
There is a Mobile Respawn Slick, which can be piloted by players, and is encouraged so as to provide quicker reinsert than the objective clearance respawn points. VIKING-6 has authority on when this Helicopter should touch down, and where.

Respawn loadouts are set at the start of the game, but can be modified at any arsenal by scroll wheeling, and selecting the “Save Respawn Loadout” option.

Limited Arsenal available at each respawn point. Ammunition cases can be found dropped across the AO.

Standard CDLC Prairie Fire medical, does not require PAK to stabilise. No Dustoff MEDIVAC/CASEVAC available.

Located at Maxwell Field, all available without restriction.

The COBRA and the HORNET both only have two respawns each, all other aircraft are not restricted.

This mission features a customised radio support menu. It restricts the type and cost of AI support. You start with 50 support points, and can gain 200 more by destroying the Anti-Air Missile System, as well as through other surprise means.

In the event that three levels of leadership or more are missing, the platoon is to break contact and perform an organized withdrawal of forces to the nearest safe haven (Respawn Points / LZs).
