1993: Battle for Pecher

Civil war has raged across what once was the Green Sea Soviet Socialist Republic, in the first years after the fall of the USSR. The chaos of the disolution and the corruption of former Soviet high rank officers has provoked a continuous influx of weapons and ammunition into the region, and numerous factions with different interests are fighting each other for the control of Chernarus. Meanwhile, the Chernarussian Federal Republic, self-proclaimed as the legitimate heir to the government in the region, participates in a fratricidal war forgotten by the world, attentive to the evolution of the Yugoslav Wars.

The Chernarussian Republic of Kurmansk has launched an offensive eastward to capture Miroslavl Oblast from the Chernarussian Federal Republic. As a direct result, the region has been practically depopulated, as most of the fighting in the war has taken place along the Bumaya River. On the banks of this river is the city of Pecher, just 140 kilometers from Miroslavl.

The 12th Infantry Guards Regiment of the Chernarus Defense Forces (CDF), loyal to the federal government, has mobilized to the city to try to stop the advance of the Kurmansk forces. However, the situation has been critical, and only the involvement of the 91st Motorized Infantry Regiment, known as the "Novotny Column" can tip the balance in favor of federal troops.

However, in order for the Novotny Column to advance on the city's relatively unguarded air base, the 12th Infantry Guards Regiment must storm and capture the Zavodsk industrial train station, to divert enemy attention and buy time for the airfield attack can be successful.
