Fair Options at the Start?

This mod was made for people who want to stop restarting the first floor if they get a bad item. I tried to balance RNG at the beginning, not simplify the game. This mod does not provide any advantage, it is balanced and fair, i would say that it is just the quality-of-life (IMHO).


This mod spawns 4 random items in the treasure room of first floor, but you can ONLY CHOOSE ONE. However, not every item can be chosen for free. If you want to pick up a non-initial item, you will have to pay for it with a key, bomb or heart.

1. I already said, but you can only choose one item. Only items that can be in the treasure room on the first floor will spawn.
   
2. This does not affect your planetarium chances as it did with other similar mods, because we must enter the treasure room.
   
3. You can't choose items for free. You have to choose between a better item and the secret room or the store on the next floor (because you may not find a key or bomb anymore).
   
4. Such room can only appear once per run. It works correctly with XL-floors (Curse of the Labyrinth), "Forget me now", "R Key", victory laps, etc.
   
5. It is disabled in Greed Mode and any Challenges.
   
6. Flying characters will not be able to fly over rocks and will take damage from spikes in this room. The Lost has a slightly different layout of the spikes so that you can pick up an item (if you are dexterous enough).
   
7. Any reroll items (D6, Eternal D6, Rune of Perthro, etc.) will reroll only one item in the room (one that is free).
   
8. Void item and Black rune will consume only one item (one that is free).
   
9. Tainted Keeper will have a coin price for the items, and holders of the Devil's Crown trinket will have a devil price (as expected).
   
10. If anyone has ideas on how to make this mod more fair, I will try to implement them.

You can change the settings of the mod through Mod Config Menu Pure.

Current options:

• Enable/Disable for Greed Mode (default = Disabled)
  
• Reroll Mode: Normal = Don't reroll optional items, Hard = Turn optional items into Breakfast (default = Normal)
  
• Win Streak Mode: In this mode, 4 items will be spawned only if the win streak is below or equal to the threshold (default = Disabled)
  
• Win Streak Threshold (default = 0)

Eternal D6 may shuffle positions of the items between the pedestals. However, it will reroll only one item (one that is free). A little more random for our favorite character. xD
