VCS Meerkat A1

A Monitor-class Heavy Frigate designed to provide defensive fire for friendly utility ships operating nearby, and can act as a jump tug for a single ship. Designed for a crew of two, the Meerkat isn't the toughest or fastest ship in the system, but it can take a bit of a beating and dish one out as well. The VCS determined that the Meerkat's heavy armor wasn't warranted based on the weaponry and foes it would be facing. As such, the A1 variant replaces all the heavy armor with light armor, making the Meerkat swifter and more efficient without sacrificing too much durability thanks to its shields.
