I also went to Google and found that Google would confuse its images with those of Brown-marbled grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus), So I suspect you might be confusing it with Brown-marbled grouper. Is this species really Dermatolepis inermis? It looks more like Epinephelus fuscoguttatus.
