[MSS] Type-40 Light Cruiser

The Type-40 was the first cruiser sized vessel designed by MSS shipyards. Its role is mostly to provide short range defense to friendly vessels against small crafts and light ships such as frigates and destroyers, while still being able to be a threat to larger targets. For this purpose, it is equipped with a massive forward facing weaponry of 12 long range artillery guns hidden in an armored pod under the bow, as well as a good amount of short range turrets and CIWS. Even if it must mostly rely on its fixed guns for long range combat, it can still win a gunfight, especially if it gets close to its target, thanks to its tough armor. With a hangar for two large fighters, several cargo containers and production facilities, the Type-40 is a very versatile cruiser that can effectively be used as a frontline brawler.
