Why do I have to be directly neighbouring an empire just to declare them a rival?

And why should I care if they are pathetic or overwhelming compared to me?

Just makes no sense to me. If you feel the same, this is the mod for you.

This lifts the restriction on rivals so you can just rival anyone anywhere in the galaxy. Go out there and make some enemies!

This is an archive version before the 3.0 update of the main mod. This only changes the power restrictions on rivalry, so you can rival regardless of relative power (from pathetic to overwhelming). But no changes to the restrictions implemented since Federations (bad relations, envoys, etc.)
This version of the mod will not be updated.


This will work for players and the AI as well.

Should be save to install and remove during running games (I had no problems so far).
The Rival restrictions are determined while playing the game so there should be no issues.

Should be compatible with anything as it does not modify vanilla files, only overwrites the rivals part of the game rules. If something else overwrites that, it might clash with this mod.
