oliver, if you are having trouble with custom items, you can try asking the mad2 discord channel. just google mad2 discord and click on the first link. many people have probably had the same problem as you

have just tried and i still cant use and new items. have tried unsubscribe and resubscribe and still dont work

Oliver, try navigating to the steam workshop section in library, then click download. This isn't permanent unless you also click save workshop items.
